Registration, Orientation, and Academic Readiness (ROAR)
As an incoming new student, one of your next steps to secure your spot and enroll
at »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ is to register for our first-year orientation program called
Registration, Orientation, and Academic Readiness (ROAR). Each component plays a critical role in supporting students as they transition
to »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ:
- Registration: Ensures students are enrolled in their courses and on track academically.
- Orientation: Introduces students to campus resources, services, and opportunities to build connections.
- Academic Readiness: Prepares students for success by providing tools and information about academic support services.
ROAR is all about helping students acclimate to the university, build a sense of belonging, and feel confident as they start their »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ journey. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend ROAR to learn more about institutional resources and academic support for their student.
The timing of your orientation depends on your start term. If you're beginning in spring 2025, orientation will take place in January. Fall 2025 students will have several orientation dates available throughout the summer. Fall 2025 orientation registration is now open!

Seats for transfer students are limited at each of the above sessions. If you are a transfer student, we encourage you to register early to secure your preferred session or consider attending the transfer-only ROAR event on August 7.

All ROAR events offer a parent track presented in both Spanish and English. If your parent or guardian will be attending ROAR with you and would like to participate in Spanish-language sessions, please indicate this on your registration form.
Secure Your Spot -- ROAR Registration and Tuition Deposit
To secure your spot at »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ, submit your tuition deposit and register for a ROAR session. You can complete both by logging into your . Submitting your $100 tuition deposit and registering for ROAR confirms you will be attending »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ. Your $100 deposit is not an additional fee, but rather a credit toward tuition charges and is refundable until June 1. ROAR dates for summer 2025 are coming soon.
»Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ believes that engaged families are one of the most important aspects to the success of our students. We encourage parents and guardians to attend our family-track sessions throughout the day. These sessions run concurrently with student ROAR sessions. These sessions provide relevant information, and connects you to resources available to your student's upcoming university experience.
ROAR Family Registration
Students can add you to the ROAR family track when they register for ROAR by providing your contact information. Students and families will attend ROAR together on the same day and sessions run concurrently.
Find your »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ NetID and password
An »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ netID and password are automatically created for all admitted students and sent to them by U.S. Mail along with their admission decision letter. A day or so after you submit your ROAR registration, you'll receive an email sent to your personal account from clawsFREE»Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ that reminds you of your netID and temporary password. This communication will also include information on your new »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ email address.
A netID consists of a student's first and last initials followed by five digits (e.g., br99901). Be careful not to confuse the letter "l" and the number one, or the letter "o" and the number zero. Remember that the first two characters of your netID are letters and the last five characters are numbers.
Use your netID and password to access many »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ online tools, such as your new »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ email and the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).

If you are interested in living on campus, please submit a housing application through .
You will log in using your »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ netID and password. You will first be prompted to confirm your profile. Under housing overview, you will begin the application by answering, "No, I do not live on campus at this time." Please be sure to submit all sections and note a "confirmed" status on your application page.
If you meet someone through ROAR that you would like to room with and have already submitted a housing application, you may change your roommate preference by updating or creating your roommate group in . Please note that we do not guarantee specific roommate placement but will do our best to accommodate requests.

If you are looking to get involved on campus, visit , our student organization management system, to browse the various types of student organizations on campus. If no organization aligns with your interest, the Student Development Office can also help you start a new organization. Please visit us at the Student Organization Center, located in L-109B in the Warde Academic Center.
As a first-year student at »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ, you will be exposed to several different celebrations and programs in your first semester. Some of the programs you can look forward to are Welcome Week, Spirit Week, Homecoming Weekend, Latinx Heritage Month, Black History Month, and many more. In addition to ROAR, you will learn more about what to expect in your first semester through the ROAR Canvas and in your Transitions class.
It's the kickoff to the first 40 days of the semester! It is the students' first opportunity to get acclimated to »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ by discovering opportunities to learn, connect and laugh through social, educational and cultural programs. The events are hosted by the Student Activities Board (SAB), registered student organizations (RSOs) and other campus departments.
