
»Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ Hosts 2019 Youth Athletic Summer Camps
»Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ (»Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ) is proud to offer a range of summer camp and course experiences to youth in the community that inspire creativity, expand their knowledge and physical skills, and motivate them to lead in their schools as well as their communities. »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ's summer camps and courses incorporate practical lessons with hands-on learning led by »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ professors and staff. Plus, each camp is held on the University's beautiful campus on the South Side of Chicago, exposing attendees to the college environment and preparing them for the future.
Among the camps and courses offered in 2019 will be four athletic camps, a jazz camp, a student media camp and three dual credit summer courses.
The is scheduled for Monday through Thursday, June 24-27 and is open to students ages 10 to 16. The camp will be hosted by »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ men's basketball coach Tom O'Malley, along with the »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ men's basketball coaching staff and current players.
The will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 9 and 10. The two-day camp is open to boys and girls from fourth to twelfth grade and will be ran by »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ women's volleyball head coach Bob Heersema who will use passing, serving and setting drills to improve campers' skills.
The will be on Friday, August 2. This one-day camp is open to students ages 9 to 18 and will be led by »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ softball head coach Erin Mollohan, along with the rest of the »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ coaching staff and current »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ softball players, who will work with students to improve their game.
The fourth and final athletic camp will be the inaugural and will be held Monday through Wednesday, June 24 through 26. The three-day camp will be led by the »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ lacrosse head coach Tom Haggerty and is open to all levels of experience.
