»Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ Director of Jazz Studies Shawn Salmon presented at JEN Conference in New Orleans
»Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ’s (»Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ) Director of Jazz Studies Dr. Shawn Salmon presented at the in New Orleans. He presented a research lecture entitled, "How Did Wes Do It? Examining the Connection between Wes Montgomery and Charlie Christian" on Friday, January 6, as well as presented on a poster session on Saturday, January 7. Dr. Salmon also received the Jazz2U grant in 2016 from JEN to bring guest artist, trumpeter Roger Ingram, to perform with the »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ Jazz Ensemble on December 2. This is the second time Dr. Salmon has received this grant since the approval of the new bachelor of music performance with a jazz emphasis in 2015.
