Dear »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ Community:

This joyous time of year provides an opportunity for us to reflect on the blessings and opportunities afforded to us. I am filled with gratitude for our incredible students, faculty, staff, alums, donors and friends who demonstrate the spirit of excellence, service and generosity that is at the heart of our Mercy heritage.

I invite you to explore some recent accomplishments of community members featured in the stories below. The individuals highlighted showcase »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ’s core values – respect, excellence, compassion, service, hospitality, integrity, diversity and learning for life – in action.

»Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ Student Publishes Young Adult Fantasy Novel

»Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ political science student Myah Bawadi has published her first book, "Infinity Legion." A young adult fantasy novel, "Infinity Legion" tells the story of Soleil Yamanu, a soldier who craves power and must prove her worth. YA novels have historically lacked representation for Middle Eastern characters, so Bawadi wrote one into existence herself. Read more.

During the season of Thanksgiving, the »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ community reflected with gratitude for the mission stewarded by our founding Sisters of Mercy in 1846. »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ student Jesus Jaime, an active reservist in the U.S. Army, has earned a challenge coin, a highly-coveted honor in the military space. Not only was Jaime the only member of his unit to receive the honor, but he also received first place in the IWQ out of 1,500 participants. Read more.
