Message from the President

Dr. Laurie Joyner

This is a time for colleges and universities to lead in animating and addressing the pressing social issues facing our communities. We are all actively involved in shaping a future as a result of conversations and steps taken across the country on racial equity and social justice. Inspired by the Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy, we commit to examining the Critical Concern of racism over the coming academic year by engaging with all areas of campus life in an intentional way.

Saint Xavier community members are tenaciously meeting the challenges of today with innovation, compassion and action to ensure that our students thrive in an equitable learning community.

I am pleased to share some of their good work in the stories below. From our talented alumni contributing their unique skills to their fields, to on-campus leaders bringing diverse perspectives and expertise to the issues at hand, we are living out the dream of the Sisters of Mercy who founded our institution nearly 175 years ago. And together, we are charting a course for another 175 years of creativity and compassion.

We are »Ê¹Ú²ÊƱ.

Laurie M. Joyner, Ph.D.
President
